apparently this herb planter, among other pieces at chiasso, is part of the new(est) real world: hollywood set. either way, i love both the chrome and the $38 price tag.

... your garden grow

its not out until early may, but i adore this watering can. it makes me even more jealous of other people who don't live in a (wait for the irony) garden-level apartment without even a glimpse of the sun. $44 from patina.

bird's egg view

another rare bird finds-inspired post, i found this bird nest window project ($15) over at hearthsong after musing over these upside-down tomato planters (also $15). the tomato planters are probably more of a sure thing since its hard to force the birds to make a nest against your window, but if you're already a bird-feeder type maybe they're both equally possible.

cross-pollination

so despite the somewhat predatory name, this jewelery from parasite is both beautiful and versatile, albeit requiring a bit more care than some other pieces. both the necklace and the earrings are $54.55, and are delicately blown glass that you fill with a bit of water and cuttings of lovely flowers or plants. for the photos they opted for a flower in the necklace and long leaves for the earrings so you'd get an idea of how to "dress" them if you will ... its a pretty bold concept. available at the scandinavian design center.

i have to put out there that the allure of this piece might be due to the stems we have on display here, but overall i think its quite fetching. $55 from wrapables. they also have these dish/napkin sets from mudlark ... as a rule, i think its a bad idea to pair disposable items with permanent ones like dishes because it makes you debate when to actually "use up" the disposable pieces, but these mudlark sets (you may have seen their stationarybefore ) are reasonably enough priced (on sale for $15) that you can think of the napkins as "free" to avoid fretting:

these wall-mounted planters are pretty sweet. i have no idea what they're made of or very much at all except their price ($18.98) and even that might be canadian. yeah its canadian. but besides the single pot above (which i just realised actually comes with the plant), they have other versions like the one below for $36.98 canadian. from flowerbox.

war of the gerberas

in my quest to find the cheapest interesting valentine bouquet, i've come across some stunners. the one i'd buy if i had $150 to drop are the above saint's hot tulips and orchids from twig in the boston area.
